✧ I was present at the death of Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Whenever I and my sister cried out, and the women cried out, he did not forbid us. But when he died, he forbade us from wailing. He carried him to the edge of the grave, with al-Abbas at his side. Al-Fadl b. Abbas and Usamah b. Zayd went down into his grave. I was weeping at his grave, and the sun eclipsed. The people said, 'This is because of his death.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It does not eclipse for the death of anyone or for his life.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a gap in the grave and ordered that it be filled. It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will it benefit him?' He said: 'Indeed, it benefits him and does not harm him, but it harms the eye of the living.' He died on Tuesday, ten nights having passed from Rabi' al-Awwal in the year ten.
