✧ Hamnah bt. Jahsh, also known as Umm Habibah, she was the wife of Abdurrahman b. Awf, and she was the sister of Zainab, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بُجَيْدٍ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ قَالَتْ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ يَقِفُ عَلَى بَابِي حَتَّى أَسْتَحْيِي فَمَا أَجِدُ مَا أُعْطِيَهُ قَالَ «ضَعِي فِي يَدِهِ وَلَوْ ظِلْفًا مُحْرَقًا»

✧ "I said: 'O Messenger of God, a poor man stands at my door until I feel ashamed, but I find nothing to give him.' He said: 'Put in his hand, even if a burnt hoof.'"
