حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي حُكَيْمَةُ عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمَيْمَةَ

«أَنَّ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كُنَّ يَجْعَلْنَ عِصَابَةً فِيهَا الْوَرْسُ وَالزَّعْفَرَانُ فَيَعْصِبْنَ بِهَا أَسَافِلَ شُعُورِهِنَّ مِنْ جِباهِهِنَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحَرِمْنَ ثُمَّ يُحَرِمْنَ كَذَلِكَ»

Translation

✧ "The wives of the Prophet ﷺ used to create a mixture of musk and saffron, and they would apply it to the lower parts of their hairline before becoming forbidden. Afterwards, they would continue to be forbidden in the same way."
