حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ رُقَيْقَةَ قَالَتْ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي نِسَاءٍ فَقَالَ «تُبَايِعْنَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكْنَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا تَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا تَزْنِينَ» الْآيَةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» قُلْنَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْنَا قَالَ «لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ كَقَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ regarding women, and he said, "Take the pledge not to associate anything with Allah, not to steal, and not to commit adultery." Then he said, "To the best of your ability and within your means." We said, "May Allah and His Messenger be kinder to us than ourselves." We said, "O Messenger of Allah, give us your pledge." He said, "I do not shake hands with women. My statement to a hundred women is the same as my statement to one woman."
