✧ The first time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill was in the house of Maymunah. His illness became severe until he lost consciousness. She said: His wives consulted one another about giving him medicine, so they gave it to him. When he regained consciousness, he said, "What is this? Did women come from here?" And he pointed with his hand toward the land of Abyssinia. Asma' bint Umays was among them. They said, "We suspected you had pleurisy, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "That is a disease with which Allah would not afflict me. Let no one remain in the house without being given medicine except the paternal uncle of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," meaning Abbas. He said: Maymunah was given medicine that day while she was fasting, because of the oath of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
