حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيِّ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ فِي زِفَافِ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَضَرَبَ الْبَابَ فَقَامَتْ إِلَيْهِ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ فَفَتَحَتْ لَهُ الْبَابَ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ أَيْمَنَ ادْعِي لِي أَخِي» فَقَالَتْ أَخُوكَ هُوَ أَيَّ كَلِمَةٍ يَمَانِيَةٍ وَتَنْكِحُهُ ابْنَتَكَ قَالَ «يَا أُمَّ أَيْمَنَ ادْعِي لِي» فَسَمِعَ النِّسَاءُ صَوْتَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَتَحَشْحَشْنَ فَجَلَسْنَ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَدَعَا لَهُ وَنَضَحَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «ادْعُو لِي فَاطِمَةَ» فَجَاءَتْ وَهِيَ عَرِقَةٌ أَوْ حَرِقَةٌ مِنَ الْحَيَاءِ فَقَالَ لَهَا «اسْكُتِي فَقَدْ أَنْكَحْتُكِ أَحَبَّ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي إِلَيَّ» وَدَعَا لَهَا وَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَنَضَحَهُ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَرَأَى سَوَادًا فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ قَالَ «ابْنَةُ عُمَيْسٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَكُنْتِ فِي زِفَافِ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تُكْرِمِينَهُ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَدَعَا لِي

✧ I was present at the wedding procession of Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When morning came, the Prophet ﷺ came and knocked on the door. Umm Ayman arose, went to him, and opened the door for him. He said, "O Umm Ayman, call my brother for me." She said, "Your brother is he, that is, a Yamani word, and you marry your daughter to him?" He said, "O Umm Ayman, call him for me." The women heard the Prophet's ﷺ voice, so they moved aside and sat in a corner. Then Ali came, and he supplicated for him and sprinkled some water on him. Then he said, "Call Fatimah for me." She came, sweating or blushing from shyness. He said to her, "Be quiet, for I have married you to the most beloved of my household to me." He supplicated for her, asked for water, and sprinkled it on her. Then he left and saw a dark figure and said, "Who is this?" She said, "Asma'." He said, "Daughter of Umays?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Were you at the wedding procession of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to honor it?" I said, "Yes." Then he supplicated for me.
