حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ
قَدِمَتْ عَلِيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ فِي عَهْدِ قُرَيْشٍ وَمُدَّتِهِمُ الَّذِي عَاهَدُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدِمَتْ عَلِيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ صِلِي أُمُّكِ»

✧ My mother came to me while she was a polytheist during the time of Quraysh and the treaty they had made with the Messenger of God ﷺ. I said: “O Messenger of God, my mother has come to me, and she is desirous [of my kindness]; shall I maintain ties with her?” He said: “Yes, maintain ties with your mother.”
