حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ الشَّامِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ثنا النَّهَّاسُ بْنُ قَهْمٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ قَالَ
نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ وَصَفِيَّةُ عَرُوسٌ فِي مَجَاسِدِهَا فَرَأَتْ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ نَزَلَتْ حَتَّى وَقَعَتْ عَلَى صَدْرِهَا فَقَصَّتْ ذَلِكَ عَلَى زَوْجِهَا فَقَالَ وَاللهِ مَا تَمَنَّيْنَ إِلَّا هَذَا الْمَلِكَ الَّذِي نَزَلَ بِنَا فَفَتَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَضَرَبَ عُنُقَ زَوْجِهَا صَبْرًا وَتَعَرِّضَ مِنْ هُنَاكَ مِنْ فِتْيَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لِيَتَزَوَّجَهَا حَتَّى أَلْقَى لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَمْرًا عَلَى مُنْتَصَفٍ فَقَالَ «كُلُوا وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ encamped at Khaybar while Safiyyah was a bride in her bridal finery. She saw in a dream as if the sun descended until it fell on her chest. She related that to her husband, and he said, "By Allah, you desire nothing but this king who has come down upon us." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered it and struck off her husband's neck in execution. Some of the young men of the Prophet ﷺ then showed interest in marrying her, until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw dates for them on a leather mat and said, "Eat the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah for Safiyyah."
