حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلَطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِقْدَامِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ هُرْمُزٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ قَالَتْ
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ وَوَجْهُهَا مُحْمَرٌّ فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُكِ؟ فَقَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا نَائِمَةٌ فَضَرَبَنِي بِمَجَسَّةٍ مَعَهُ فَقُلْتُ إِيشِ الْمَجَسَّةُ؟ قَالَتْ السَّعَفُ الْأَبْيَضُ فَقَالَ «هَذَا وَاللهِ أَوَانٌ نَزَلَتِ الْفِتَنُ الْعِظَامُ» قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَهْلِكُ وَفِينَا الصَّالِحُونَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ ثُمَّ يُنَجَّى الَّذِينَ اتَّقُوا»

✧ I entered upon Zaynab bt. Jahsh and her face was red. I said, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while I was sleeping and struck me with a majassa he had with him." I said, "What is the majassa?" She said, "The white palm branch." He said, "By Allah, this is the time when great tribulations have descended." She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will we perish while there are righteous people among us?" He said, "Yes, then those who fear Allah will be saved."
