حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ حِينَ مَاتَ أَخُوهَا فَدَعَتْ بِطِيبٍ فَمَسَّتْ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَتْ مَا لِي مِنْ حَاجَةٍ فِي الطِّيبِ وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تَحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا»

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us. And Bakr b. Sahl narrated to us: 'Abd Allah b. Yusuf narrated to us, all of them from Malik b. Anas, from 'Abd Allah b. Abi Bakr, from Humayd b. Nafi', from Zaynab bt. Umm Salamah, who said: I entered upon Zaynab bt. Jahsh when her brother died. She called for perfume and applied some of it, then said, "I have no need for perfume, but I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a deceased person more than three days, except for a husband, four months and ten days.'"
