✧ I am the most knowledgeable of people about this verse. When Zaynab was given to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, she was with him in the house. He prepared food, then the people came. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would go out while the people remained in their places, then return while the people were still sitting. Then Allah revealed: {O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless you are given permission for a meal, without waiting for its preparation. But when you are invited, enter, and when you have eaten, disperse, and do not linger for conversation. Indeed, that was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of you, but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask them for something, ask them from behind a screen.} So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set up the screen, and the people got up.
