حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ
عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِذَا مَشَى صَلَّى لَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ حَتَّى يَأْتِينَا فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ تَعْلَمِينَ عَلِمَ الْمَوْتِ يَا ابْنَةَ زَمْعَةَ عَلِمْتِ أَنَّهُ أَشَدَّ مِمَّا تُقَدِّرِينَ»

✧ From Sawdah bint Zam'ah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, she said: I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, when 'Uthman b. Maz'un walks, he prays for us until he comes to us.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, 'If you knew what death knows, O daughter of Zam'ah, you would know that it is more severe than you imagine.'
