حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ الْعَالِيَةِ بِنْتِ سُبَيْعٍ
أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رِجَالٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَجُرُّونَ شَاةً لَهُمْ مِثْلَ الْحِمَارِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ أَخَذْتُمْ إِهَابَهَا؟» فَقَالُوا إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَقَالَ «يُطَهِّرُهَا الْمَاءُ وَالْقَرَظُ»

✧ Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated to her that some men from Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dragging a sheep of theirs like a donkey. The Prophet ﷺ said to them: "Why don't you take its skin?" They said: "It is carrion." He said: "Water and qaraz (acacia pods) purify it."
