✧ A year of famine struck the people, and the Bedouins would come to Madinah. The Prophet ﷺ would order a man to take another man by the hand and host him and give him supper. One night a Bedouin came, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had some food and a little milk. The Bedouin ate it and left nothing for the Messenger of God ﷺ. Then he brought him one or two more nights, and he kept eating it all. So I said, "O Messenger of God, O God, do not bless this Bedouin; he eats the food of the Messenger of God ﷺ and leaves him nothing." Then he brought him one night, and he ate only a little of the food and drank only a little of the milk. I said to the Messenger of God ﷺ, "That's it." Then he brought him one night after he had embraced Islam, and he said, "The disbeliever eats with seven intestines, while the believer eats with one intestine."
