حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا جُنَادَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي جُمَحٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَوْ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَدْعُوَ وَنَقُولَ «اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ فَلَا شَيْءَ قَبْلَكَ وَأَنْتَ الْآخِرُ فَلَا شَيْءَ بَعْدَكَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ نَاصِيَتُهَا بِيَدِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْغِنَى وَفِتْنَةِ الْفَقْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ اللهُمَّ نَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَبَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطِيئَتِي كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ commanded us to supplicate and say: 'O God, You are the First, so there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, so there is nothing after You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature whose forelock is in Your hand, and I seek refuge in You from sin, laziness, the punishment of the Fire, the punishment of the grave, the trial of wealth, the trial of poverty, and I seek refuge in You from wrongdoing and debt. O God, purify my heart from wrongdoing as the white garment is purified from filth, and distance between me and my errors as You have distanced between the East and the West.'
