حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ ثنا مُعْتَمِرٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ قَالَتْ
أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحَدِّثُ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ مَنْ هَذَا؟» فَقُلْتُ دِحْيَةُ الْكَلْبِيُّ فَلَمْ أَعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ جِبْرِيلُ ﷺ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُحَدِّثُ أَصْحَابَهُ مَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عُثْمَانَ مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ

✧ Umm Salamah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was speaking with a man, and he said, “O Umm Salamah, who is this?” I said, “Diḥyah al-Kalbī.” I did not know that it was Jibrīl ﷺ until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ telling his companions what had taken place between them. I said to Abū ʿUthmān, “Who narrated this to you?” He said, “Usāmah b. Zayd.”
