حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مَمْلَكٍ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ «كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ ثُمَّ يُسَبِّحُ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَهَا مَا شَاءَ اللهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يَنْصَرِفُ فَيَرْقُدُ مِثْلَ مَا صَلَّى ثُمَّ يَسْتَيْقِظُ مِنْ نَوْمَتِهِ تِلْكَ فَيُصَلِّي مِثْلَ مَا نَامَ فَصَلَاتُهُ تِلْكَ الْآخِرَةُ تَكُونُ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ»

✧ He asked Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, about the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ. She said: He used to pray the later evening prayer, then glorify Allah, then pray after it whatever Allah willed of the night. Then he would depart and sleep for as long as he had prayed. Then he would wake from that sleep and pray for as long as he had slept. That last prayer of his would continue until morning.
