✧ The Sermon of Aisha

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجذوعي ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ جَلَسْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ سِنِينَ أَوْ سَنَةً وَنِصْفًا مَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ مَرَّةً عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِضَبٍّ فَجَعَلَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ يَأْكُلُونَهُ وَفِيهِمْ سَعْدٌ فَنَادَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ ضَبٌّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «كُلُوهُ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ طَعَامِ قَوْمِي»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ something, except that he narrated once from a woman among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ that a dabb (spiny-tailed lizard) was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and some of his companions began eating it, among them Saʿd. Then a woman among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ called out to him that it was a dabb. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Eat it, there is no harm in it, but it is not from the food of my people."
