✧ The Sermon of Aisha

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ»

✧ She heard Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, narrate that the Prophet ﷺ said, "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in God and the Last Day to mourn over a deceased person for more than three days, except over a husband."
