حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ عَلَيَّ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ وَعِنْدِي جَارِيَتَانِ تُغَنِّيَانِ تَذْكُرَانِ يَوْمَ بُعَاثٍ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ فِيهِ صَنَادِيدُ الْأَوْسِ وَالْخَزْرَجِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ عِبَادَ اللهِ أَمَزْمُورُ الشَّيْطَانِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ عِيدًا وَالْيَوْمُ عِيدُنَا»

✧ Abu Bakr ؓ entered upon me on a day of Eid while two slave-girls were with me, singing and mentioning the day of Bu'ath, the day on which the champions of Aws and Khazraj were killed. Abu Bakr said: "Servants of God! Is the pipe of Satan in the presence of the Messenger of God?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "O Abu Bakr, every people has a festival, and today is our festival."
