حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«لَمَّا نَزَلَ عُذْرِي مِنَ السَّمَاءِ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَنِي بِذَلِكَ» فَقُلْتُ «بِحَمْدِ اللهِ لَا بِحَمْدِكَ»

Translation

✧ When my exoneration came down from heaven, the Prophet ﷺ came and informed me of that. I said, 'Praise be to Allah, not to you.'
