حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدٍ الْأَعْوَرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيَّ حَوْفٌ فَمَا هُوَ أَنْ تَزَوَّجَنِي حَتَّى أَلْقَى الله عَلَيَّ الْحَيَاءَ وَالْحَوْفَ» قَالَ وَالْحَوْفُ شَيْءٌ يَصْنَعُهُ الْأَعْرَافُ عَلَى الصِّبْيَانِ مِنْ سُوَرٍ يُلْبِسُهُ الْأَعْرَابُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ

✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me while I wore a huf (amulet). No sooner did he marry me than Allah cast upon me modesty and the huf.” He said: “The huf is something the Bedouins make for children from suras (chapters of the Qur’an) that the Bedouins put on their sons.”
