✧ The story of Tayammum, and how it happened because of Aisha.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

رُمِيتُ بِالَّذِيِ رُمِيتُ بِهِ وَأَنَا غَافِلَةٌ فَبَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عِنْدِي جَالِسٌ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى قَاعِدًا وَمَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا عَائِشَةُ أَبْشِرِي» قُلْتُ بِحَمْدِ اللهِ لَا بِحَمْدِكَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَاتِ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ} الْآيَاتِ

✧ I was accused of that of which I was accused while I was unaware. While the Prophet ﷺ was sitting with me, he then sat up straight, wiped his face, and said: 'O Aisha, rejoice.' I said: 'By the praise of Allah, not by your praise.' Then he recited to me these verses: {Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women} and the verses.
