✧ The Marriage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Khadijah, Her Age, Her Death, and Some of Her Stories

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِيمَا يَحْسِبُ حَمَّادٌ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِخَدِيجَةَ «إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ صَوْتًا وَأَرَى ضَوْءًا وَإِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يَكُونَ بِي جَنَنٌ» فَقَالَتْ خَدِيجَةُ لَمْ يَكُنِ اللهُ لِيَفْعَلْ بِكَ ذَاكَ يَا ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثُمَّ أَتَتْ وَرَقَةَ بْنَ نَوْفَلٍ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنْ يَكُنْ صَادِقًا فَإِنَّ هَذَا نَامُوسٌ مِثْلُ نَامُوسِ مُوسَى فَإِنْ يُبْعَثْ وَأَنَا حَيٌّ فَسَأُعَزِّزُهُ وَأَنْصُرُهُ وَأُعِينُهُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to Khadijah, 'I hear a voice and see a light, and I fear that I may be possessed.' Khadijah said, 'Allah would not do that to you, O son of Abdullah.' She then went to Waraqah b. Nawfal and mentioned that to him. He said, 'If he is truthful, then this is a namus (angel of revelation) like the namus of Moses. If he is sent while I am alive, I will strengthen him, help him, and assist him.'
