✧ The Marriage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Khadijah, Her Age, Her Death, and Some of Her Stories

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِحِرَاءَ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ خَدِيجَةُ قَدْ جَاءَتْ بِحَيْسٍ فِي غَزْرَتِهَا فَقُلْ لَهَا إِنَّ اللهَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قَالَ لَهَا إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ أَعْلَمَنِي بِكِ وَبِالْحَيْسِ الَّذِي فِي غَزْرَتِكِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَ وَقَالَ اللهُ يُقْرِئُهَا السَّلَامَ فَقَالَتْ هُوَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْهُ السَّلَامُ وَعَلَى جِبْرِيلَ السَّلَامُ

Translation

✧ Gabriel came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at Hira. He said, 'This is Khadijah. She has come with a dish of dates mixed with butter (hays) in her small basket. Say to her that Allah conveys greetings to her.' When she came, he said to her, 'Gabriel informed me of you and of the hays in your basket before you arrived, and said that Allah conveys greetings to her.' She said, 'He is Peace, and from Him is peace, and upon Gabriel be peace.'
