✧ The Marriage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Khadijah, Her Age, Her Death, and Some of Her Stories

حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ هَارُونَ قَالَا ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا غِرْتُ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا غِرْتُ عَلَى خَدِيجَةَ وَلَقَدْ هَلَكَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَنِي بِثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ لَمَّا كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ مِنْ ذِكْرِهِ إِيَّاهَا وَلَقَدْ أَمَرَهُ رَبُّهُ أَنْ يُبَشِّرَهَا بِبَيْتٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ قَصَبٍ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَيَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ فَيَظَلُّ يَتَتَبَّعُ بِأَعْضَائِهَا صَدَائِقَ خَدِيجَةَ»

✧ I was never jealous of any wife of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as I was jealous of Khadījah, and she had died three years before he married me, because of what I used to hear of his mentioning her. His Lord commanded him to give her glad tidings of a house in Paradise of hollow pearl, and indeed, when he slaughtered a sheep, he would keep sending portions of it to Khadījah’s friends.
