حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
«أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَقْبَلَ بِزَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَحِقَهُ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَقَاتَلَاهُ حَتَّى غَلَبَاهُ عَلَيْهَا فَدَفَعَاهَا فَوَقَعَتْ عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ فَأَسْقَطَتْ وَأُهْرِيقَتْ دَمًا فَذَهَبُوا بِهَا إِلَى أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَجَاءَتْهُ نِسَاءُ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِنَّ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مُهَاجِرَةً فَلَمْ تَزَلْ وَجِعَةً حَتَّى مَاتَتْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوَجَعِ فَكَانُوا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهَا شَهِيدَةٌ»

✧ “A man brought Zaynab bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ, and two men of Quraysh caught up with him and fought him until they overpowered him and took her away from him, and she fell on a rock and miscarried and bled. Then they took her to Abu Sufyan, and the women of Banu Hashim came to him, and he handed her over to them. Then she came after that as an emigrant, and she remained ill until she died from that illness. They used to consider her a martyr.”
