حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ

فَوُلِدَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْقَاسِمُ وَهُوَ أَكْبَرُ وَلَدِهِ ثُمَّ زَيْنَبُ قَالَ وَكَانَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ عَلِيًّا وَأُمَامَةَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ مُسْتَرْضَعًا فِي بَنِي غَاضِرَةِ فَافْتَصَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبُوهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُشْرِكٌ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَارَكَنِي فِي شَيْءٍ فَأَنَا أَحَقُّ بِهِ وَأَيُّمَا كَافِرٍ شَارَكَ مُسْلِمًا فِي شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ مِنْهُ» قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَحَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُؤَمَّلُ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ابْنُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ نَاهَزَ الْحُلُمَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْدَفَهُ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ

Translation

✧ To the Messenger of God ﷺ was born al-Qasim, who was the eldest of his children, then Zaynab. He said: Zaynab bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ was married to Abu al-As b. al-Rabi b. Abd al-Uzza b. Abd Shams, and she bore him Ali and Umamah. Ali was being nursed among the Banu Ghadirah, and the Messenger of God ﷺ took him away from them while his father was still a polytheist. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Whoever shares with me in anything, I have more right to it; and any disbeliever who shares with a Muslim in anything, he has more right to it than him.” Al-Zubayr said: Umar b. Abi Bakr al-Mu’ammal narrated to me: Ali b. Abi al-As b. al-Rabi, the son of Zaynab bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ, died when he had nearly reached puberty, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had seated him behind him on his riding camel on the Day of the Conquest.
