حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ أَبَا الْعَاصِ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ حِينَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُهَاجِرًا أَنْ تَذْهَبَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَقَدِمَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ إِنَّ أَبَا الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ لَحِقَهَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا أَنْ خُذِي مِنْ أَبِيكِ أَمَانًا فَأَطْلَعَتْ رَأْسِهَا مِنْ بَابِ حُجْرَتِهَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ الصُّبْحَ فَقَالَتْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَنَا زَيْنَبُ وَإِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ أَبَا الْعَاصِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَمْ أَعْلَمْ بِهَذَا حَتَّى سَمِعْتُهُ الْآنَ وَإِنَّهُ يُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَدْنَاهُمْ»

✧ On the authority of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that Zaynab bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ asked permission of Abu al-As b. al-Rabi to go to the Prophet ﷺ when the Messenger of God ﷺ had emigrated, and he gave her permission. So she came to the Messenger of God ﷺ. Then Abu al-As b. al-Rabi caught up with her in Madinah, and he sent word to her: “Obtain a guarantee of safety from your father.” So she put her head out from the door of her room while the Messenger of God ﷺ was leading the people in the dawn prayer, and she said, “O people, I am Zaynab, and I have granted protection to Abu al-As.” When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished the prayer, he said, “I did not know of this until I heard it just now. The lowest of the Muslims may grant protection.”
