حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاتَ لِي وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمَا» فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَقِيَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْوَلَدَيْنِ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ لَئِنْ يَكُونَ قَالَهُ لِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا غُلِّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ حِمْصُ وَفِلَسْطِينُ

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of God, two children of mine have died in Islam.' He said: 'Whoever has two children die in Islam, God will admit him to Paradise by the abundance of His mercy toward them.' Later, he met Abu Hurayra and said to him: 'Are you the one to whom the Messenger of God ﷺ said that about the two children?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That he said it to me is dearer to me than Hims and Palestine being conquered for me.'
