✧ And he is one of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet ﷺ bought a horse from a bedouin. He went ahead to pay him the price of his horse, and the Prophet ﷺ walked quickly while the bedouin walked slowly. Some men began to intercept the bedouin and bargain with him over the horse, not knowing that the Prophet ﷺ had already bought it, until one of them offered the bedouin more than the price for which the Prophet ﷺ had bought the horse. The bedouin called out to the Prophet ﷺ, saying: “If you are buying this horse, then buy it; otherwise I will sell it.” When the Prophet ﷺ heard the bedouin’s call, he said: “Did I not already buy it?” The bedouin said: “No, by Allah, we have not made a transaction.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed, I did buy it.” People began to crowd around the Prophet ﷺ and the bedouin while they were arguing. The bedouin kept saying: “Bring a witness who testifies that I sold it to you.” Every Muslim who came said to the bedouin: “Woe to you! The Prophet ﷺ would never say anything but the truth.” Then Khuzaymah came and listened to the exchange between the Prophet ﷺ and the bedouin. The bedouin kept saying: “Bring a witness that I sold it to you.” Khuzaymah said: “I testify that you have sold it.” The Prophet ﷺ turned to Khuzaymah and said: “On what basis do you testify?” He said: “By affirming your truthfulness, O Messenger of Allah.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made the testimony of Khuzaymah equal to the testimony of two men.
