حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعَطَّارِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَيْشِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ بْنِ بَعْكَكٍ قَالَ

وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً فَلَمَّا تَعَالَتْ مِنْ نِفَاسِهَا تَشَوَّفَتْ لِلنِّكَاحِ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا أَوْ عِيبَ عَلَيْهَا فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنْ تَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ حَلَّ أَجَلُهَا»

✧ Subay'ah bt. al-Harith gave birth after her husband's death by twenty-three or twenty-five nights. When she recovered from her postpartum bleeding, she sought marriage, and that was disapproved for her or criticized. She mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "If she does that, then her term has become lawful."
