حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثنا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ قَالَ

جَلَسَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَيْهِ خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَرَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدَهُ بِقَضِيبٍ كَانَ فِي يَدِهِ ثُمَّ غَفَلَ عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرَمَى الرَّجُلُ بِخَاتَمِهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ خَاتَمُكَ؟» قَالَ أَلْقَيْتُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَظُنُّنَا قَدْ أَوْجَعْنَاكَ وَأَغْرَمْنَاكَ»

✧ A man sat by the Prophet ﷺ wearing a gold ring. The Prophet ﷺ tapped his hand with a stick he had in his hand, then the Prophet ﷺ became inattentive to him, and the man threw away his ring. The Prophet ﷺ looked at him and said: "Where is your ring?" He said: "I threw it away." The Prophet ﷺ said: "I think we have caused you pain and made you incur a loss."
