حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ثنا وَهَيْبٌ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَبْصَرَ فِي يَدَهِ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَجَعَلَ يَقْرَعُهُ بِقَضِيبٍ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا غَفَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلْقَاهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا أُرَانَا إِلَّا قَدْ أَوْجَعْنَاكَ وَأَغْرَمْنَاكَ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ saw a gold ring on his hand, so he began tapping it with a stick he had. When the Prophet ﷺ became inattentive, he threw it away. The Prophet ﷺ said: "I think we have only caused you pain and made you incur a loss."
