حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُبَارَكٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ
مَرَّ بِي خَالِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ وَمَعَهُ لِوَاءٌ فَقُلْتُ إِلَى أَيْنَ؟ قَالَ «بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَجِيئُهُ بِرَأْسِهِ»
Translation

✧ My maternal uncle, Abu Burdah, passed by me with a flag. I said, "Where to?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to a man who married his father's wife—I will bring his head."
