حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فُضَيْلِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَوْجَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أُصِيبَ بِدَمٍ أَوْ خَبْلٍ فَهُوَ بَيْنَ إِحْدَى ثَلَاثٍ فَإِنْ أَرَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَخُذُوا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ أَنْ يَقْبِضَ أَوْ يَعْفُوَ أَوْ يَأْخُذَ الْعَقْلَ فَإِنْ أَخَذَ وَاحِدَةً ثُمَّ تَعَدَّى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَهُ النَّارُ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: Whoever is afflicted by bloodshed or injury, he is between one of three options. If he desires a fourth, then restrain him: between exacting retaliation, pardoning, or taking the blood money. If he takes one and then transgresses after that, for him is the Fire, abiding eternally therein forever.
