حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ
كَانَ نَاسٌ بِالْبَصْرَةِ زَمَانَ زِيَادٍ يَأْخُذُونَ الدَّرَاهِمَ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ نَسِيئَةً فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُقَالُ لَهُ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ نَسِيئًا وَأَنْبَأَنَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ رِبًا»

✧ Some people in Basra in the time of Ziyad used to take dirhams for dinars on credit. A man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ called Hisham b. 'Amir al-Ansari stood and said: 'Indeed, the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade selling gold for silver on credit, and he informed us that that is riba.'
