al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 18699

✧ A man named Walid, Walid b. 'Uqba b. Abi Mu'ayt b. Abi 'Amr b. Umayyah b. 'Abd Shams b. 'Abd Manaf, known as Abu Wahb and was the brother of Uthman from his mother. Their mother was Arwa bt. Kurayz b. Rabiah b. Habib b. Abd Shams, and their mother was Umm Hakim al-Baidha bt. Abdul Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . The Prophet, ﷺ , kissed Uqba b. Abi Mu'ayt upon his return from the Battle of Badr, and Walid was a man in the time of the Prophet, ﷺ .

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الرُّوَاسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الدَّاهِرِيُّ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أُنَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَنْطَلِقُونَ إِلَى أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُونَ بِمَ دَخَلْتُمُ النَّارَ فَوَاللهِ مَا دَخَلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا بِمَا تَعَلَّمْنَا مِنْكُمْ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَقُولُ وَلَا نَفْعَلُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Some people from the people of Paradise will go to some people from the people of the Fire and say, "Why did you enter the Fire? By Allah, we did not enter Paradise except because of what we learned from you." They will say, "We used to say and not act."'
