✧ A man named Walid, Walid b. 'Uqba b. Abi Mu'ayt b. Abi 'Amr b. Umayyah b. 'Abd Shams b. 'Abd Manaf, known as Abu Wahb and was the brother of Uthman from his mother. Their mother was Arwa bt. Kurayz b. Rabiah b. Habib b. Abd Shams, and their mother was Umm Hakim al-Baidha bt. Abdul Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . The Prophet, ﷺ , kissed Uqba b. Abi Mu'ayt upon his return from the Battle of Badr, and Walid was a man in the time of the Prophet, ﷺ .

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا فَيَّاضُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ الْكِلَابِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ
«لَمَّا فَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ جَعَلَ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ يَأْتُونَهُ بِصِبْيَانِهِمْ فَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى رُءُوسِهِمْ وَيَدْعُو لَهُمْ فَجِيءَ بِي إِلَيْهِ وَإِنِّي لَمُطَيَّبٌ بِالْخَلُوقِ فَلَمْ يَمْسَحْ عَلَى رَأْسِي وَلَمْ يَمَسَّنِي وَلَا يَمْنَعُهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا أَنَّ أُمِّي خَلَّقَتْنِي بِالْخَلُوقِ فَلَمْ يَمَسَّنِي مِنْ أَجْلِ الْخَلُوقِ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Makkah, the people of Makkah began bringing their children to him, and he would wipe their heads and supplicate for them. I was brought to him while I had been perfumed with khalūq, and he did not wipe my head, nor touch me, and nothing prevented him from that except that my mother had perfumed me with khalūq. So he did not touch me because of the khalūq.
