حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ قَالُوا ثَنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ يَقُولُ «خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ فَأُتِيَ بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ طُهُورِهِ فَيَتَمَسَّحُونَ بِهِ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ» وَهَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَالْآخَرُونَ نَحْوَهُ

✧ I heard Abu Juḥayfah say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the midday heat. He was brought water for ablution and performed ablution. The people began taking some of the leftover water from his ablution and wiping themselves with it. Then he prayed Zuhr as two rak'ahs and 'Asr as two rak'ahs, with a spear in front of him.' This is the wording of the hadith of 'Asim b. 'Ali, and the others are similar.
