حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرِهِ الَّذِي نَامُوا فِيهِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَرَدَّ اللهُ أَرْوَاحَكُمْ فَمَنْ نَامَ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ وَمَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا»

Translation

  4. ʿAwn b. Abū Juḥayfah from his father

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on a journey where they slept until the sun rose. He said, "Indeed, you were dead and Allah has revived your souls. So whoever slept and missed the prayer, let him pray it when he wakes up, and whoever forgot a prayer, let him pray it when he remembers."
