He is Wathila bin al-Asqai bin Abdul-Aziz bin Abdul-Yaalil bin Nashib bin Ghayra bin Saad bin Layth bin Bakr bin Abda Manat bin Kinana.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَاعَ عَيْبًا لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي غَضِبِ اللهِ وَلَمْ تَزَلِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تَلْعَنُهُ»
