حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السِّقْطِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ كِلَاهُمَا عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُجَنَّدُ النَّاسُ أَجْنَادًا جُنْدٌ بِالْيَمَنِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالشَّامِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَجُنْدٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ» قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي فَتًى شَابٌّ فَلَعَلِّي أُدْرِكُ ذَلِكَ فَأَيَّ ذَلِكَ تَأْمُرُنِي؟ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّهَا صَفْوَةُ اللهِ مِنْ بِلَادِهِ يَسُوقُ إِلَيْهَا صَفْوَتَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَكَفَّلَ لِي بِالشَّامِ وَأَهْلِهِ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَلْيَلْحَقْ بِيَمَنِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “People will be enlisted as armies: an army in Yemen, an army in Syria, an army in the East, and an army in the West.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am a young man, and perhaps I shall live to see that. Which of them do you command me to join?” He said, “Adhere to Syria, for it is Allah’s chosen land; He drives His chosen servants to it. Adhere to Syria, for Allah has guaranteed Syria and its people to me. Whoever refuses, let him join his Yemen.”
