✧ “Narrate to us a hadith you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with no error, no addition, and no forgetting.” He said, “Did any of you recite anything from the Qur’an tonight?” We said, “Yes, but we are not very good at memorizing it; we add a wāw or an alif, or we omit.” He said, “This Qur’an is written among you, and you do not fail to memorize it, yet you claim you add and omit. So how about hadiths we heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which perhaps we heard from him only once? It is enough for you, when we narrate a hadith to you, that it be according to its meaning.”
