حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَاهَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ

«أَنَّهُ صَحِبَ قَوْمًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُمْ غَفْلَةً فَقَتَلَهُمْ وَأَخَذَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فَجَاءَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَرِهَ مَا صَنَعَ وَأَبَى أَنْ يَقْبَلَهَا»

✧ "That he accompanied a group of polytheists and found them heedless, so he killed them and took their property, then he brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He disapproved of what he had done and refused to accept it."
