حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زِيَادَ بْنَ عِلَاقَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ يَقُولُ
إِنْ كَانَ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي حَتَّى تَرِمَ قَدَمُهُ أَوْ سَاقَاهُ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ فَيَقُولُ «أَفَلَا أَكُونُ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا؟»

✧ I heard Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah saying, "If the Prophet ﷺ intended to pray until the soles of his feet or shins became swollen, it would be said to him, and he would say, 'Should I not be a grateful servant?'"
