حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَعَمٍ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَهُ
أَنَّهُ مَشَى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَتَى بَعْضَ تِلْكَ الْأَوْدِيَةِ فَدَخَلَهَا فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَخَلَعَ الْخُفَّيْنِ فَلَمَّا لَبَسَ وَجَدَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ رِيحًا فَعَادَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقُلْتُ أَنَسِيتَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ أَنْتَ نَسِيتَ بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي ﷻ»

✧ He walked with the Prophet ﷺ and came to one of those valleys. He entered it, relieved himself, then came out and performed ablution, removing his leather socks. When he put them back on, he later noticed an odor, so he repeated the ablution and wiped over the leather socks. I said, "Did you forget, O Prophet of Allah?" He said, "No, rather you forgot. This is what my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, commanded me."
