حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ «يَا مُغِيرَةُ خُذِ الْإِدَوَاةَ» فَأَخَذْتُهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَذَهَبَ لِيُخْرِجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ كُمِّهَا فَضَاقَتْ وَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ أَسْفَلِهَا فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and he said, “O Mughīrah, take the water vessel.” So I took it, then I went out with him. The Messenger of God ﷺ went away until he was hidden from me, relieved himself, then came back wearing a Syrian jubbah with tight sleeves. He tried to take his hand out of its sleeve, but it was too tight, so he took his hand out from below it. I poured water for him, and he performed ablution as for prayer, wiped over his leather socks, and then prayed.
