حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ وَزَكَرِيَّا وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَمُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ وَرَّادٍ قَالَ كَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ
أَنِ اكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ الْمُغِيرَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ انْصِرَافِهِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ وَكَثْرَةِ السُّؤَالِ وَإِضَاعَةِ الْمَالِ وَعَنْ مَنَعَ وَهَاتِ وَعُقُوقِ الْأُمَّهَاتِ وَوَأْدِ الْبَنَاتِ»

✧ [He asked him] to write to him something he had heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: Al-Mughirah wrote to him that the Messenger of God ﷺ used to say when he finished the prayer, 'There is no god but God alone, with no partner. To Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He has power over all things. O God, none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold, and no possessor of fortune can benefit from his fortune against You.' And he used to forbid idle talk, excessive asking, wasting wealth, withholding [what is due] and demanding [what is not], disobedience to mothers, and burying daughters alive.
