حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَارُودِيُّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْأَسْبَاطِ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ ثنا مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
وَضَّأْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَسِيتَ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ أَنْتَ نَسِيتَ بِذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي جَلَّ وَعَزَّ»

✧ I helped the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution, and he wiped over his leather socks. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, did you forget?" He said, "Rather, you forgot. This is what my Lord, Mighty and Exalted, commanded me."
